Preview jumps back to previous highlight when I highlight text

After updating to macOS Big Sur, When I highlight text in Preview, it jumps back to the page of the previous highlight. I never had any issues with Preview before Mac OS Big Sur update. How can I fix this?

Preview not saving recent highlights I've been having a problem with Preview recently in which I highlight text in a PDF, save it, close it, and when I re-open it, the most recent highlights aren't there. I've experimented with saving the changes numerous times and with multiple documents and after numerous restarts and pram resets. It usually loses the 3-4 most recent highlights I make and keeps the older ones. It seemed to start shortly after the 2nd to most recent Big Sur upgrade.

Preview Bug Does anyone know how to solve the Preview bug where one highlights something and the app immediately moves the last highlight (often from a different page) messing up the reading? I have this problem since updating to BigSur in my Macbook Pro (2017) and know that many other users have it. Please help, it makes the PDF reader almost unusable.

Apple Preview auto scrolling thumbnail bug When using preview, with the thumbnails open on the side, if I click on say "page 1" to select it, preview jumps to select page 2. This bug was reported by this thread too, but the response from support didn't quite understand what the behaviour was. . . https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8297077 It's absolutely maddening. Seems to only occur if you have Preview set on "Auto Page Scrolling". But wow, it's driving me crazy. To fix, just go to VIEW > Single Page and that will fix this bug temporarily... Finally, when submitting this report, I could ONLY choose macOS High Sierra - no Big Sur listed. . . so just let it be known this is a Big Sur issue for me.

Same here - it's driving me absolutely insane. I'm using Preview Version 11.0 (1018.6.2) running on Big Sur 11.4 on a 15- inch, 2017 touch bar, MacBook Pro.

It makes no difference whether I have the sidebar open or not, or whether it's displaying the table of contents, highlights and notes, bookmarks or thumbnails
