No text sound from phone or MacBook when near each other

When I have my phone near my computer, I don't receive alerts for messages, or sounds ,At first I thought I had dnd on or the volume was low, but it happens every time. Also sometimes when I am texting the sound from my phone drops out at well? Has this happened to anyone before? Is there a reason when they iPhone and MacBook are near each, no sound comes out between the two? please help!

Hi HarlemSzPrinceSz10,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're not receiving notification alerts or sounds and we're happy to help! If you’re looking at your iPhone the Attention Aware feature on iPhone can lower the volume sound of your alerts. “If you don’t want to use these features, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode and turn off Attention Aware Features.” For more information see About Attention Aware features on your iPhone X or iPad Pro
