SriramPrabhagaran ,

Thanks for following up and sending additional details about the behavior you're seeing when trying to scan documents in Notes on your iPhone. We're happy to continue helping.

When your iPhone is in Auto mode, it will automatically capture the page you're scanning. Are you pressing the Shutter or Volume buttons to complete the scan? If so, then it's normal to see the option to adjust the scan to fit the page afterwards. Basically, by pressing a button, you're bypassing the automatic scan and manually scanning. Learn more in the previous link we sent entitled, 'Add attachments to notes on iPhone'.

To prevent having to adjust the scan, you can leave Auto mode turned on and simply wait for your iPhone to scan the document, rather than pressing the Shutter or Volume buttons to manually scan.

Let us know if we can be of any more help.

Take care.

Hi there SriramPrabhagaran,

It sounds like you're unable to scan documents in the Notes app on your iPhone. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some guidance.

To start, you'll want to be sure you're accessing this feature from either the iCloud or On My iPhone folder in your Folders list in Notes. Third-party accounts, like Gmail or Outlook, won't show the option to scan a document in Notes.

If you're viewing the Notes list, tap the arrow next to 'Folders' at the top left corner of the screen. Learn more in the 'Create folders' section here:

Use Notes on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Also, have a look at the support articles below to find out more about scanning documents and adding attachments in Notes:

How to scan documents on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Add attachments to notes on iPhone

We hope this provides some clarity. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any more questions.

Cheers.
