iTunes Windows - can no longer browse music stored on iPhone

Up until recently when I connected my iPhone via USB to my Windows 10 PC within iTunes I could browse and play music from the iPhone's library. These are all MP3s I own, not files from the iTunes store. Now when I connect my iPhone I can still see it within iTunes, but when I click on "Music" nothing displays. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, and recently updated the iPhone's OS but the problem remains.

I always unlock the phone before I connect it, so there's no prompt about trusting the device. Haven't seen that in quite a while.

I should clarify that I don't sync my iPhone with this computer; I sync it with my Mac. But I became accustomed to being able to plug the iPhone into my PC and play the music stored on the phone through iTunes. I can see the iPhone from within iTunes, view the information, but if I click on the music library it says that there are no items. The songs play properly from the iPhone, but cannot be viewed from within iTunes anymore and I'd like that functionality back.
