Thunderbolt connection between ipad pro and Macbook pro

What happens if I connect my Ipad pro 2021 with my older but still powerful Macbook Pro 2018 through thunderbolt.

Can my macbook , having an intern Vega20 Graphic card, take advantage of the M1 chip? How does the performance change? For softwares like adobe cc for example.

Connecting your 2021 iPad Pro to your Mac, using a USB or Thunderbolt cable, will make no difference to the performance of the Macbook computer itself.
