Have a series 4 Apple Watch, all of a sudden the battery began to loose power (when 100% charged) in less than an hour, also when trying to charge it it requires too many hours to get charged (>24 hours), maximum charge I managed to get was 78%. At same time the watch gets extremely hot. Tried to reset it, but nothing has changed
That sounds like a hardware and likely battery malfunction. Perhaps it is time to consider having it serviced, or start thinking of a replacement even.

That battery health number is not that bad, but obviously that kind of long charging time and extreme hotness indicates a hardware failure, perhaps in the surrounding circuitry. So basically it comes down to having it repaired or start thinking of a replacement.
OK. Can you try with another power adapter and charging cable as well?
I think it is generally more than that, but sure your mileage may vary. What is Battery Health actually reporting in your case? Under Settings > Battery
Thanks for your feedback, is it a fact that the battery does not last for more than 2 years..., bought the watch 2.5 years ago, had a 2 years guarantee which has expired..., I am a bit concerned that the lifetime of the battery is so short
It shows 85%, the issue is that since the problem began yesterday it takes ages to get charged...., right now I am charging it for more than 12 hours and it's still below 50% charged
