You don't want to use a flash drive for the Time Machine backup. Flash drives are slow, low capacity and notoriously prone to fail at any time.

Use an external USB hard drive for that process. you want one that is 2X or more the capacity of your Mac's startup drive. For example, if the Mac has a 500GB drive, then buy a 1TB external drive.

You can find good quality drives at https://macsales.com.

>My new printer requires 10.13.

Hi,

Any information about the printer model? An AirPrint enabled model (About AirPrint - Apple Support), should per se work with macOS Sierra 10.12. AirPrint means that you do not have to install printer drivers, providing that the printer and the computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). However, software from the printer manufacturer may require a newer operating system version (and drivers may be needed for a USB connection).

I have an older iMac latae 2013 and my new printer requires 10.13 how do I download?
