cellular data controls & screentime

I use screen time controls on my son’s phone. I have “cellular data changes” set to “don’t allow” yet he can toggle the cellular data on and off…? Why??

Also, the apps listed under cellular data are grayed out so their toggle setting cannot be changed, even if I turn off restrictions on account changes and cellular data changes, or even if I turn screentime off altogether.

Unfortunately some high data apps like Spotify and Snapchat are toggled on to allow cellular data , so he is burning through it and it can’t be turned off because greyed out.

Can anyone help??

Hi uome4x,

We appreciate you reaching out to us. You can count on us to do our best to assist you or get you pointed in the right direction.

We understand that your son is able to make changes on his device's cellular settings even if Screen Time is set up not to allow these changes.

The article below may provide some insights. Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Take care!

This is not a helpful reply. Your linked article does not provide any insights because I already know how to toggle on and off cellular data.

To restate my problem: I have set Screeentime restrictions to grey out that toggle-- but it is NOT greyed out, so he can turn it on and off. And more importantly, there are high data apps that are toggled on to use cellular data-- and they ARE greyed out and cannot be toggled off, even when I turn off Screentime restrictions.
