How to Customize Carplay

Re: We understand that you want to change the CarPlay settings so that Apple Maps the default. You can use the same instructions to get Apple Maps as the default as you would to get Google Maps, just swap the app you are setting.

Open Settings > General > CarPlay and select your vehicle.

Locate the Apple Maps icon and move it to the Home screen for your vehicle.

My iphone 12 screen to customize a vehicle's carplay doesn't let me "move Apple Maps to the Home screen". I don't know what that instruction means. Google Maps has a red circle with a minus sign on the left side (and I can remove it if I want but don't know if that means it would be de-selected or actually deleted from my iphone) while the Apple Maps icon has nothing on the left & I can't do anything with it. More detailed instructions please!
