HP printer drivers for LaserJet Pro M402dn

I purchased my first MacBook yesterday and cannot find printer drivers on the HP site. I did install the printer using a generic driver from a list during the "Add Printer" steps on my Mac, however, even though I clicked a box for duplex printing, I have no option for that when printing multi-page documents.

I have had this printer for five years and it has worked flawlessly with my multiple Windows laptops.

OS was upgraded to Big Sur yesterday.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

The HP LaserJet Pro M402dn is mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. This means that it should not be necessary to install drivers, providing that the printer and the computer are connected to the same network (subnet). Has the M402dn been added as an AirPrint printer?

On the support page for the model in question, HP has a reference to an Easy Start app only. Generally speaking, software/drivers from a printer manufacturer may or may not add functionality (and drivers may be needed for a USB connection).
