Video glitching when imported from iPhone to computer (PC)

When I view recorded videos on my iPhone (8) they look and sound totally fine.

However, when I import video from my iPhone to my PC (Windows 10) using a lightning to USB cable, the imported video glitches when viewed on my computer, in any app, in any file setting.

I've attached an example of said glitch. It happens periodically in every video. It will occur only for a split second, then disappear, but will happen repeatedly and is distracting.

I am recording video at 1080p at 30 fps and the camera capture setting is set at High Efficiency--my video and audio files are saved as HEIF/HEVC.

How do I get it to stop?? Thank you.

Hello harpyeye,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that after importing video you have recorded with your iPhone to your computer, the video is glitching. When you transfer your videos from your iPhone to your computer make sure that you tap Keep Originals as described in the article below so the file format is not converted.

Using HEIF or HEVC media on Apple devices - Apple Support

"Importing this media via USB

When you import HEIF or HEVC media from an attached iOS device to Photos, Image Capture, or a PC, the media might be converted to JPEG or H.264.

You can change this import behavior in iOS 11 or later. Go to Settings > Photos. In the TRANSFER TO MAC OR PC section, tap Keep Originals to prevent the media from being converted to JPEG or H.264 when importing."

Best Regards.
