Hi there, Molly!

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. If we understand, you have lost one of your AirPods and are now unable to reset or connect the remaining one with your devices. We are happy to provide you with some information!

What you are experiencing is expected behavior, as both AirPods are required to be in the case in order to initially pair or reset them. If your AirPods are already paired with a device, the remaining one should connect to it, however without the other we cannot troubleshoot if it doesn't.

If you need to pair the AirPods with a new device, or the remaining AirPod does not connect with devices it has already been pried with, you will need to replace the missing AirPod. You can do that following AirPods and AirPods Case Replacement - Official Apple Support.

Cheers!
