If you're referring to sharing the calendar using an iPhone, then you'll want to check out the section labeled "Share an iCloud calendar" of the following resource:

Let us know if you see the plus sign to browse your contacts or not as mentioned in that resource. Also make sure you're up to date with the latest compatible iOS version on your iPhone.

We appreciate you updating us with this information so we're aware that you're working with a Gmail calendar.

As this is related to the Gmail calendar, it may be best to reach out for support through Google's support team; however, if you type in a name within the search field are you seeing that a contact name appears? Keep in mind that since this is being synced from Gmail servers, the list would likely be pulling from the Gmail contact list.

We were able to locate the following resource from Google Support so take a look at that to see if you're able to locate how to share your calendar.
