iPhone 12 mini wont charge past 80%

I bought my iPhone 12 mini couple days ago and since the first day it will stop charging at 80% sit there and charge slowly 1% per 30min up to 100%. The reason I think is because it's overheating. Coconut Battery reports Battery temp:36,6'c, which doesn't seem that bad. My old iPhone XS keeps charging at full rate even when it's very hot. I've tried 4 different chargers, 3 different usb c and 2 usb A cables. MagSafe, QI chargers. Same. The optimised battery charging is off. Even if a cool my iphone down to 25c it reaches 35+ while charging within couple of minutes and it always cuts off on 80% unless I have a fan pointed to it. My ambient temp is 31c. Should I bring my iPhone to the apple store or is this normal?

Hello pcwiz93,

We understand that you have some concerns related to your iPhone 12 Mini not charging as expected. Given the behavior you're describing, please check if Optimized Battery Charging is enabled. That charges the iPhone to 80% and then trickle charges until it knows you need it, based on learning your behavior over time. Details can be found here:

Thanks for the reply,

Right after i bought my iPhone, optimised charging feature was turned on, but I've turned it off, because I thought it was causing charging to stop at 80%. Optimised charging feature has been off days, and still when my iPhone warms up it stops charging, it usually stops at 80%, then very slowly, 1% per 30min charges to 100%.
