Keynote, Photo Gallery playback

I'm using Photo Galleries on slides which works great. When I play the presentation or create a video, it looks like the time to display each photo is around 4 seconds and I've tried playing with export settings as well as the document settings in normal mode and automatic playback mode, nothing changes the photos delay time when using a Photo Gallery. Setting the animation start/finish delay is at the slide level not the photo within a Gallery level.

Anyone come across this and have a solution?

I have a sort-of workaround if I want more time on a single photo within the gallery, just make it be the last photo and then set the slide delay but that's not ideal and only works if you want more time on one photo.

thanks

  1. Click on Photo Gallery on the slide to select
  2. Go to Inspector /Animate / Action
  3. Open the Build Order List by clicking the Build Order button at the bottom of the Action pane
  4. click on the first image in the list, and enter a time delay
  5. repeat for the remaining images
  6. to move automatically to the next slide after the Photo Gallery images play ; click on the slide background to deselect the Photo Gallery, then go to Inspector /Animate / Transitions then add a transition effect if required, in the Start Transition dropdown menu ; select Automatically and enter a time in the delay entry box

Note that only Actions work on Photo Gallery objects, not Builds

Wow, thanks Gary Scotland. I never would have thought to look at the build order, that's perfect. I had the transitions working but because I didn't know about this I had bumped up the delay time to 4 secs which may still be ok. I'll probably review all photos again and adjust accordingly. The 3 sec delay seems ok for most. This is really good, thanks again.
