Hi,
I plug in a Hama xd card reader and can see all jpg images clearly as previews but when I open some images there is a thin strip of part of the image at the top of the frame and the rest of the photo is all solid grey. How can I open and view these photos in full?
I’m running a high spec 15” 2018 MacBook Pro with all software up to date.

That looks like the image file is corrupted. I would suspect either a faulty card reader, or a faulty card.
As a double check, to rule out mac software, try uploading one to an online editor, such as:

What app are you using to view the photos?
What happens if you first copy the files to a. Folder on your drive?
Hi, Thanks so much for your response! I’ve tried opening using “Preview” and “Photos”.
I’ve moved the images onto my desktop - where you can see all images as a thumbnail - but clicking on some makes them open as blank grey with a thin strip of part of the image at the top of the frame.
.JPGs only visible as thumbnail previews
