orange light and dropping calls

My iPhone keeps dropping phone calls or I cannot hear the person (like it's on mute) and each time there is an orange dot that appears on the top right corner of my iPhone screen. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Orange dot simply means the microphone is being used, the loss of calls is another matter. Talk with your network provider.
