So I've managed to obtain and iMac from 1998 for a film production I'm working on and it doesn't have AppleWorks loaded onto it. It is running original Mac OS version 8.6
Does anyone happen to know how we can load the software onto the iMac without the actual software CD?

You need to have a CD to install AppleWorks. Either the original gray restore disks for that specific iMac or a retail box of AppleWorks.
Hmm... I have the old apps saved. I wonder if just sending them smchbt would solve the problem?
Once AppleWorks is installed, Apple still offers for download, the AppleWorks 6.2.9 for Mac updater. Despite its name, it will only update AppleWorks 6 to v6.2.8 for classic macOS 8.1.
