iOS 14.x Mail App -- Send from Alias???

The ability to send email from an Alias on the iPhone was removed from Apple's Mail app for iOS beginning with iOS 14.0 and still has not returned. This ability had existed for at least a decade prior to going away. Specifically with iCloud and GMail. Likely other providers as well.

Will this ever be coming back? Ironically, iOS 14 opened up the ability for third party email apps to become the default and from what I've seen, they all seamlessly offer this option. However I'd far prefer to stay with Apple's app. I've kept it as my default/primary app, but have to switch to another app just to send emails correctly.

Hello FluxCap,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're interested in using an email alias in the Apple Mail app for iOS, and we'd like to offer some support.

You might be able to create an email alias for your iCloud email, then use that alias to send emails in Mail. Everything you need is found here:

Use email aliases on iCloud.com

In the meantime, feel free to share your feedback with Apple about incorporating a broader use of email aliases in Mail:

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
