camera issues or software issues

My camera screen for zoom meetings and FaceTime is suddenly showing a thin black horizontal line.

it shows up on a screen shot.

am running Big Sur 11.4

How do I get rid of this please???

iMac 27″, macOS 11.4

Does it also show in other applications - e.g. PhotoBooth, Quicktime Player?


There may be an issue with the camera itself.


Create a new user, login as that user, and try it - e.g. with PhotoBooth. Same problem, or not?

Yes it does 😕 I took it back into the store as it’s still under warranty and the guy said the camera is pixelated?? And it has to be sent back to Apple - I am disappointed as I love my Apple products- I am really hoping for a replacement- doesn’t feel right getting it repaired when I have had it only for a few months - here’s hoping
