Where is a scanned document saved to on iPad?

I scanned a document on my iPad and I’m wondering where it is saved to.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14

This will largely be determined by the App from which you are attempting to scan a document. For example:


  • If using the Files App, the scanned documnent is saved in the location from which the scan is intiated.


  • When scanning from the Mail App, the scanned document is inserted directly within the Mail message that you are composing.


  • For Notes, the scan is saved directly to the currently open Note.
