online calls slow my mac by a lot. kernel task jumps to 500 %. This is really upsetting as it affects zoom, google meet and slack as well. Not sure what the problem but it happens for some time already.

So yes still happens and it happens for quite some time. I tried restarting; disabling hardware acceleration in slack and Chrome.
I ve monitored my cpu and gpu temperatures and they around 70 deg celsius so no prob there. It does not seem to start exactly when i start a call but can take several minutes to kick in. It also happens on screen sharing ( when either myself or the other person screen shares his screen'. Again it seems to happen only when online calling with video or screensharing no matter what i use; zoom, slack, google meet ( this is weird ).
