I have bought the base model am pleased with the Wifi performance so far but would like the original gigabit ethernet power adapter as a back up accessory.

I bought mine from a shop and the option to buy the adapter I was told was only available online when you buy the pc itself.

Not really interested in a third party (or otherwise) adapter that plugs into the back lightning port, I am interested in the one that get's supplied with the pc itself.

At this point you're best bet, is contact Apple Support and send Feedback to Apple.
