Music not working for Slideshow in Photos Project

When I add a song from iTunes to the Slideshow & then try playing the slideshow, the music doesn't play. I've bought the song to see if that was the issue to no avail. I've even set the slideshow duration to "Fit to Music," and it still didn't work. I thought maybe I might have to export it to see if the music would play then, so I exported it and then played it, and then music didn't play then either. It's not subscription-based, so I know that's not the issue. What could be causing the music from playing?

I assume you have the song available via a streaming service, since you tried before purchasing.

Are you sure you are adding the purchased version and not the streaming one? (Sorry - I've no idea how to tell, since I don't use apple music).

Altenratively - is it possible you've purchased on with DRM still attached. (From where have you purchased the music)?

I got it to work. I ended up buying the song on Amazon, then downloaded the song and imported it, and it worked that way. Weird that the iTunes song wouldn't work even though it wasn't a subscription song (it was purchased) & it wasn't one of the greyed-out ones either.

OK - works for me.

A really stupid question - you do have your volume turned up? 😀

Perhaps more seriously - any addons with "per app" volume control. And the slideshow volume is turned up, actually in the slideshow (move mouse towards bottom of screen while slideshow is running for play/pause and volume control)

I left the song that I wanted but I also added one of the theme songs as the second song, started it & i skipped the first song & went straight to the theme song & started playing it. If the song that I purchased from iTunes wouldn't work then it shouldn't be highlighted & be greyed out like all the other songs. I don't get it.

So, in the slideshow music settings under selected music, you just have the one song listed?

Yeah, volume is turned all the way up. I don't have any addons that control my volume. The volume is turned up on the slideshow as well.

No, the song wasn't showing up on Photos before I purchased it. Once I purchased the song on iTunes & closed Photos then opened it the song was there.
