Cannot Connect Network Drives

I am connected to VPN but when I try connecting to network drives via name or IP they do not prompt for password. I can ping the server ip's without issue. Any ideas on how to get these connected? This issue is happening on another Mac as well. Running BigSur 11.4 version.

Connecting to a server while using a VPN Hiya! Fairly new to MacOS and coming from Windows. Decided to use this new laptop as my work from home machine for comfort but, while getting everything ready, I ended up facing one issue: I can't seem to connect to a server (through the Go > Connect to Server) to access its shared folders. Once I get the connection going it gets stuck in an endless connecting attempt and doesn't do anything else. I don't know whether the stuff I'm going to list here makes a difference or not but I'll list it anyways: Machine is a MacBook Air (2020, M1); OS is Monterey 12.3; I'm using a VPN; It does not matter whether I use correct or completely wrong credentials during the authentication before connecting to the server, it will get stuck on connecting regardless of what I type in there; I can ping the server and get a response; Again, I'm really new to this (literally got my laptop today, I've always exclusively used Windows) so sorry if this is a simple one but I really can't seem to get it to work. my macbook pro no longer connects to my imac I have a MacBook Pro and an iMac, both running Big Sur and both have access to my wifi. Up until a few days ago I was able to access files on the iMac from my MacBook. The MacBook no longer can find the iMac. I go to Finder > Go > Connect to server and enter smb:// and the IP address of the iMac. It tries connecting for a minute then comes back with "There was a problem connecting to server". I am the only one with access to either of these devices and have made no changes that would affect connectivity. I checked my wifi and both devices report no problems with the network. I double-checked that I still have file sharing activated on both devices. Oddly, I can still access the MacBook from the iMac.

No network connection possible between iMac and MBP I use on iMac and MBP 10.13.6 I cannot carry out network connection between iMac and MBP. I have it done in the past very often with older Systems. Every time when I start the connection in finder via connection as ... the system ask for password for server by registered user. I don't have a password. When I instead use Apple-ID I see my right new Apple-ID in field but then the message box wobbles. I have change my email adress on 24. September 2020 14:39. I need solution. Regard

The goal is for users to be able to access files that are stored on a Windows server. It works if they are in the office and can connect to the drives. Yes, this has been able to access the files on vpn before.
