iPhone mail app auto changing my from email address

I have 2 email account on my iPhone. One iCloud and the other one is Hotmail. iCloud is my default email account. When I am composing a new email and type in an email address and select one from the list it changes from iCloud to Hotmail. I know on mac mail there is a way to change this but is there a way on iPhone mail app?

If you have more than one email account, you can specify which account to send email from.

Tap the From field to choose an account.

For more info, see:

Address and send email in Mail on iPhone - Apple Support

To set the default account for sending mail, tap on:

Settings > Mail

and scroll to the bottom under COMPOSING and set the default account you want to use.
