IF you truly did this What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support it shouldn't ask you for anything it will be brand new like out the box.
Everyone MUST set a passcode when an iPhone is first set up. So yes, you set a passcode, you just forgot it.
If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled
I had it reset to factory settings i also unlocked Lock Screen and password as directed. When I open phone the screen is the one when you first get an iPhone Hello etc but it asks for a 6 digit passcode. I never had a 6 digit passcode. I know what my old password was as it has been the same for every phone.
Yes i did reset it. It was unlocked for a week I turned it on to check everything before sending it in to Att and it asking for a 6 digit code
How do i do that now
Then you are out of luck I suppose. If you still have the original sales receipt you can take the iPhone to an Apple Store and see if they will reset it. If not then that iPhone is going to be useless to you as no one here can provide any more information. We are not Apple employees here, just fellow users.
