Why am I being told "Your Apple Watch must be signed into iCloud to allow it to unlock your Mac" and "You can sign in using the Apple Watch app on your iPhone"

Why am I being told "Your Apple Watch must be signed into iCloud to allow it to unlock your Mac" and "You can sign in using the Apple Watch app on your iPhone"

I have, in the last week, updated my Apple Watch 5 and iPhone 12 Pro and my MacBook Pro M1 ... nothing will fix my ability to unlock my MacBook Pro with my Apple Watch.

I have restarted my Apple Watch 5 and my iPhone 12 Pro and my MacBook Pro M1 many times ... nothing stoips me told that "Your Apple Watch must be signed into iCloud to allow it to unlock your Mac" and "You can sign in using the Apple Watch app on your iPhone".

My Apple Watch 5 has ALWAYS been signed in on my iCloud account ... it was working find until a week or so ago (before the 3 Watch and iPhone and Mac updates were issued).

Is this a very annoying bug?

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)
