I bought a USB-C - Lightning wire to connect my iPhone X to the MacBook Air 13 and synchronize them, set up the phone or delete something superfluous, but the system simply does not see my iPhone. On the Internet they write that if the iPhone is not displayed in / System Information / USB, then this is a technical problem. MacBook is 4 months old, the cable is new, iPhone is 3 years old, but everything is fine with it. What could be the problem and how to solve it?

Are you sure you bought a USB-C - Lightning data cable and not just a charging cable?

Many of these cables are only charging cables unless specifically stated to be charging and data.

Also, was it specified as compatible with iPhoneX.

I'm not sure, because I didn't buy the cable over the Internet and just asked for a cable to the MacBook from the seller, who assured me that he would connect to my phone.

Apparently, after all, the cable does not fit
