My watch will not pair because when it tries, I get a message saying I need to update my phone. My phone has been updated and backed up.

Watch will not pair bc it’s need to update. When it tried to update the watch the message appears that I need to update my phone. My phone is updated, backed up and have reset both more than once. The watch has been reset to factory.

Series 1,2 and 3 watch are proving to be almost impossible to either pair or update with an ios14 phone,if you can find a phone with ios12 or 13 try pairing with that.

Alternatively take your watch to an Apple store and ask them to pair/update for you.
