I helped my sister backup her iPad when it was on iOS 12.4. This is the most recent backup saved on her computer before we updated it to iOS 14.7 last night.
She wants to restore her iPad from the backup made under 12.4, but her iPad is now on 14.7. Will this restore work?

It will work, but be aware that her iPad will still be at iPadOS 14.7. The restore will replace all of the user data currently on the iPad with the data from the time of the backup but it does not restore the iPadOS.
