Mac keyboard not working

Hello! Unsure if this is the correct community, but am going to try any way. I have a 2015 MacBook. A few days ago the keyboard randomly stopped working. No button works other than the power button, which seemed weird that the power button works since it’s part of the keyboard. The keyboard would randomly start working again and then stop. At this point, it has completely stopped working—other than the power button. I have used an air cleaner to clean out a lot of dust in the keyboard and have tried holding down the power button, control, option, and shift to reset the SMC. None of those things have worked. Is there hardware that could have just broken that helps connect the keyboard to the computer? Is my only option to take it into an apple store or repair store at this point?

TIA!

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)
