I have successfully played music on my apple watch many times before, without iPhone present. Now it won't play the downloads on the watch anymore. I click on play with apple watch and it just flashes and says connecting.
The watch is connected to my airpods as I can play podcasts from the podcast app fine.
This problem occurs intermittently. I have restarted the watch several times.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

Thank you. I have restarted the watch many times with no luck and I am trying to get the watch to work without the phone so restarting the phone should make no difference, although it has been restarted.
