Imessage issues

I have an imessage thread on my iphone 11 that has suddenly had texts from the past disappear. Everything we’ve texted eachother from like 2 days ago and beyond has vanished and as i send new texts the ones that havent vanished are slowly disappearing. Im really sad ): i really love this text thread and i like to back and read them and i cant now. I have my settings to keep messages forever, they dont expire. I also have over 20Gb storage available on my phone so im just really confused about whats happening. I turned iMessage on and off, i updated my software. Its not deleting any other threads, just this one imessage thread. Im just not sure what to do anymore ): thanks for any help

We know how important it is for your messages to remain in the message threads, and you’ve come to a great place for help! Knowing that your device has enough available storage is a great starting point. In addition to verifying the storage space and updating iOS have you restarted your iPhone using the steps outlined in the following article? If not, try those steps next.

Restart you iPhone

If the messages don’t return after restarting do you recall if those messages may be on another device such as an iPad, iPod touch, or a Mac? If so, and you don’t currently use Messages in iCloud there is the possibly those messages can return and sync to the iPhone after enabling Messages in iCloud. More information about that feature can be found in the below article.
