How do I decrypt external hard drive?

I decided I did not want to have the backup on my external hard drive encrypted. I am running Big Sur on an M1 chip iMac. When I right click on the drive icon there is no option to decrypt. How do I decrypt it?

Thanks OK

Connect the external storage device to your Mac. Now, go to Finder > Go > Computer. Control click on the name of the external storage device, and choose [Decrypt].

If that option is not there, you must erase the external storage device, and reformat to a non-encrypted format.
