Samsung ML1915 printer driver for use with Mac OS Big Sur V 11.5

Can anyone provide guidance? - my Samsung ML1915 laser printer has no driver for macOS Big Sur V11.5

Universal driver from Samsung doesn't seem to work.

thanks

Hi,

According to the HP support page for Samsung ML-1915, a V5.00 Samsung ML-1910 Series Print Driver (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/ML-1910/Samsung_ML-191x_252x_Series_PrinterDriver.zip) for OS X 10.10 appears to be the latest (released Sep 1, 2017).

Which universal printer version did you try? There is no indication that it would work, but there is a V3.93.01 (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.01.dmg) released Feb 11, 2021 for the SL-M2020 and other models.

Please note that if you carry out experiments with drivers, software conflicts cannot be ruled out, so make sure that you have (multiple) backup copies of important files (documents, photos, et cetera).

I install driver from your link (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.01.dmg)

But in after installation I don't find my printer series Samsung ML-1641 on list of available printers(drivers)

After selection ML2060 I get error , that printer is blocked. Would you publish link for drivers package with content driver for Samsung ml-1641. Or maybe you can give advice what drivers series will be best for me .

Hi,

The latest driver on HP's support page for Samsung ML-1641 appears to be a Sep 1. 2017 V5.00 ML-1640 Series Print Driver (https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/ML-1640/Samsung_ML-1640_Series_PrinterDriver.zip). This was for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, so it is unlikely going to work with Big Sur (but perhaps worth a test anyway).

When testing the V3.93.01 universal driver, you may have to try to choose several other models. It may or may not work. A pure experiment. It could be a good idea to reset the printing system between tests. You may even want to try non-universal drivers for other models. Also, see https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06520117 .
