"No network connection--please check your internet connection"?

Does anyone get the annoying pop up now and then in the top right hand corner stating " No network connection--please check your internet connection"?

Mine is hardwired to my router, changed the cable etc. My internet never drops as it's running at 1GB. It only happens every so often and I'm not sure why. Tried changing different DNS's etc but it still occurs and I've no idea why! I've disconnected my Ethernet cable which again I've changed now 3 times but it comes back when I'm hardwired and not when I'm connected to WiFi. I don't get it. Is this a bug?

I have the ATV 4K (2021) model and noticed the following: when the ATV is in Standby/Sleep mode, the Ethernet interface will switch to the lower 100Mbps speed, and then after a while switch back to Gigabit. I don't know if your ATV 4K is doing this or not. I found a work around for this was to make the ATV 4K a Home hub. Now the interface stays up all the time. I opened a thread on the "MacRumors forum https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-tv-4k-2021-ethernet-switching-between-100-1000mbps-in-sleep-mode.2304654/

and got the tip to try setting it up as a Homehub. I don't have any HomeKit devices on my network, but they are not needed.

My ATV 4K is at latest code level.

I see it's a known bug. However I was able to resolve mine but upgrading my Ethernet cable. I bought a good UGREEN CAT 6 cable and since then no pop ups at all. Very strange though as my other cable was fine but I'm getting the speeds I should be getting and no more annoying pop up so far. They still need to resolve the 2160p HDR 60fps issues with Prime Video and YouTube though.

Yeah, I agree with you. I only did it as a temporary solution because the Ethernet link changes were filling up my logs on my Cisco managed switch.

I also have a ATV 4K (1st Gen) model and I think the Gigabit interface has gone bad. It won't even negotiate the speed to Gigabit anymore, it only works at 100Mbps. And to make things worse, when in Standby mode, the interface would go down and not come back up until the unit was powered on. That's when I decided to get the latest ATV 4K model.

My guess this is a software issue. What version of code level are you running and is it the 1st or 2nd Gen ATV 4K? I'm not sure I have an answer for you if you don't have any other Apple products to enable the Homehub function. Make sure to report this issue via the product feedback website: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Hopefully, some other folks will provide feedback on this problem.

Leave it connected to Ethernet during the setup of Homehub. You may have to Google some steps for using the Mac. I did this on my iphone.

On the Apple TV Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > make sure you're logged in with your Apple ID, Home Sharing =Apple ID

Go to Settings > Airplay and Homekit > Airplay=on Access=Everyone, Conference Room Display=off, Airplay Display

Underscan=auto, and Room = Select a room... if i highlight Room, message

was saying "Currently syncing with icloud. this may take a few minutes" .. This is when I went to my iphone and started the Home application and from there it walks you through the setup, asked me to bring the iphone near the Apple TV so it could sync (i guess). It then prompted me for the room name that was assigned to the Apple TV. Once that was done, the Apple TV Room automatically filled.

One last thing is to make sure is that Two Factor Authenication is setup, otherwise, it will complain. Hope this helps...
