You can read and decide for yourself:
Taking an ECG with the ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, or Series 6 - Apple Support
A medical ECG can employ up to 12 sensing electrodes.
Not to detract from the watch … it’s quite good … but the two systems aren’t even comparable.
Interesting.
I now see how a 12-lead ECG only uses 10x “electrodes.”
More of a “12-views” created from the 10 electrodes; while the watch is limited to “1-view” from it’s electrode pair.
It really does not mean one lead, it means Lead 1, which is a reference to where that lead is located when doing a 12-lead ECG. Sorry, but I had to step in on that one. But I agree, it is impressive according to my physician as well.
Cool graph.
Don’t you have to touch the crown to make it work?
That’s 2-electrodes. 😉
Not bad for a 1 lead ECG.
Yes that closes the circuit. If you read the bottom line on the graph it says similar to a 1 lead ECG and my doctor says it's almost as good as his machine.
