Thanks for getting back with us about this, Kimberlys7. We appreciate you confirming the steps in the articles we sent previously. Our next advice would be to test your watch on a different cellular network. You can do this by trying to place calls in a different location.

If the same behavior continues, try unpairing your watch from your iPhone (this step will automatically back up your data, so no worries about loss), then erase the watch. When completed, re-pair it to your iPhone. This article explains this process: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch. When that is done, please pair your watch and iPhone again and test.

Let us know how that goes and we can look into this further with you, if needed. Thanks and take care.

Thanks for taking those steps, Kimberlys7. If this issue persists in multiple locations, it doesn't appear to be related to the cellular network you are on. We have a few additional suggestions:

  1. Update your watch - Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. Update your iPhone - Update your Apple Watch.
  3. Restart both devices.
  4. Test the issue by making regular an FaceTime calls to different numbers, both Contacts and not.

If these issues persist and you remain unable to successfully make calls on your Apple Watch, it would be time to move to the next step and recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support.

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities and have a wonderful day.
