I have 14.7.1, and my Watch do still not unlock, when I "face open" my iPhone, so guess the problem is not only for Touch ID but also for Face ID unlock ?
Reset and restore of the AppleWatch did solve the automatic unlock issue for me (Apple Watch + iPhone 12 Pro Max)!
Interesting observation - there is no more a notification on the iPhone saying that AppleWatch is being unlocked. Watch just gets unlocked silently when I unlock my iPhone with face ID, even if I don't do a swipe.
I have an 11Max turning off the Bluetooth work once the it stopped on my 6 series.
My Apple Watch 6 has stopped unlocking with Face ID after installing 14.7.1 on a 12 Pro Max. Worked perfectly with 14.7.
Very annoying.
I have tried fully resetting to new my Watch 6, still doesn’t work.
Also tried a network reset did not work.
I have the same issue with face ID unlocking my watch . iPhone 12 and Apple Watch 6
Seems to be working for me now with a split second of lag I didn't have before.
Update: Reset/restore of my AppleWatch didn't help. Unlock was working fine for one day then it started to fail again. Doh.
That did absolutely nothing for me, other than lose all of my previously memorized networks. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
