Has anyone else been charged for Showtime or any other subscription twice?
I am trying to piece together how I've managed to pay twice for Showtime for over a year. I think this is what happened:
In April 2020 I signed up for Showtime via the Showtime app on my Apple TV - using my Apple ID, of course. Later that day (I guess) I tried to sign into that account via the Apple TV App on my Apple TV. Apparently, it signed me up for a second account instead - using my very same Apple ID - honestly, I probably thought the first one via the app just didn't go through for some reason. But honestly, how is this possible? I thought Apple was more user-friendly than this. Sadly, because global pandemic, I didn't even realize I was being double charged until this month, after upgrading to the Paramount + Showtime bundle and seeing two different app charges pop up in my email. Apple will only credit my account for one stinking month! This is absurd right?
Should I have been paying more attention? Sure. But I expect better service from Apple. I know other companies have checks in place so that you can't sign up for the same service twice with the same account! If anyone has good advice on how to escalate this problem, I'll take it!
