iPad: using PIN with 3yo kid

I bought my 3yo kid an iPad (the one with tough button on main screen).

The issue is, that she continuously locks up the iPad by entering wrong PIN. I want to use the PIN, because at this age, I want to be in control, when exactly she is using it. Screen time is not great fit for this, as I can only say how many hour per day, but I can't say: not now.

When she enters so many times wrong PIN, the iPad is eventually completely blocked. First, if says Try again in 1 minute, then try again in 60 minutes and eventually it blocks out completely.

I found on different forums, that findMy should allow to unblock it, but it doesn't work. No such option is displayed (I tried both my Apple ID - the Parent, as well as her Apple ID). Neither connecting it to iTunes via cable. It connects, but there is no "unblock".

Recovering the complete thing is not viable, as she locked it out on daily basis. Any viable solution to unblock the iPad, other than stop using PIN? :-)

Thanks everyone

iPad, iPadOS 14

I don't know what forums, but there is no option in Find My to unlock a device that is passcode locked.

To unlock it with a computer, you need to turn the device off before connecting it to the computer and then use the following instructions: If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support

Sorry, I don't know of an option other than to stop using a PIN.
