I have just upgraded from a 2012 MacBook Air to a 2020 MacBook Air and used the migration tool to transfer apps and passwords. When I try to login to sites the credentials pop up from keychain but when I use touchid or my password to select them to autofill nothing happens.
Can you help please?

Thanks for keeping us updated on this. Next, let's check to ensure that your Touch ID settings are set properly to trigger the Password AutoFill. If you navigate to the Apple Menu () > System Preferences and click in Touch ID, do you see the option for Password AutoFill enabled?

What is the solution? Nothing in the various articles you provided works.
I have exact same issue. Grrrr. Bought a 2020 Macbook Air and migrated from a 2016 Macbook Pro. Autofill does not work. For example, when trying to autofill credit card, I get the last 4 digits and screen to touch to unlock. Press it and nothing happens. Same thing happens for auto filling email address, passwords, etc.
I also have this problem. I've gone through all the articles and suggested actions. It's still not working. I have to manually open the keychain access app, search for the website, find the password, and manually copy and paste it into Safari. Very frustrating.
I updated to the latest version of the OS and it fixed the problem for me.
