Using Apple Migration to Transfer data from MacBook Air to MacBook Pro - screen going dark

OK, I'm transferring via wifi from old MacBook Air to newer MacBook Pro. The screen on the Pro goes dark after a few minutes. Does that stop the data transfer? I cannot tell. I hate to quit and start all over again but if it's starting completely over each I refresh the screen, I might as well.

Would appreciate some advice. Thanks.

I would suspect it is working away in the background.

WiFi is the slowest way to transfer large amount sof data—patience is a virtue.

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot of a brand new machine— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.
