Do you need an HDMI cable with a smart TV?
Salesperson said we did not need a cable with a smart TV. All directions to set up include an HDMI cable.
What am I missing?

If you want to connect any Apple TV to the Smart TV, yes you need a HDMI cable, get a 4K HDMI cable.
