Keyboard marks on the screen

One friend told me that there was a mistake in MacBooks that made the screen get scratched or damaged by its own keyboard (or sometimes leave marks of the keys on the screen) in some versions of the MacBook. I have the new MacBook Air M1, I want to know if this was fixed or not, because he recommended me to buy a screen protector to avoid this to happen.

Thanks.

I have the M1 MacBook Air and I do not have issue that you mentioned. I have had this M1 MacBook Air for a few months now and no issues with the keyboard or impressions of the keys on the screen. I have never used a screen protector on any laptops that I have owned so cannot comment on that part.
