I have six external hard drives connected to my iMac. One of them has a green dot next to it. I cannot find an explanation using every search string imaginable. Thanks in advance...
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
Right-click on the drive. You'll see that one of the tags is set (colors). Click it to remove the tag.

A green tag is selected. Click the green tag to remove the checkmark.

Right clicking on the drive does not work. I can add a color tag, but those are not the same type as I am seeing.

That's a "Tag" from the Finder. To remove it, control click on the drive, and remove the tag.
