2021 iPad Pro 12.9” Battery Life!!?

Can anyone tell me why my brand new 512GB 12.9” has 1/3rd the battery life of my 2017 10.5”? I keep LTE off and only WIFI, brightness down to maybe 80%, but the battery still depletes so quickly. Very disappointed in this. I do have the Smart Keyboard hooked up, but can’t imagine that draining power while idle. If I have a 100% charge at 9AM and don’t touch the iPad, I’ll be around 45% by 2:00 the following day. Whereas on the 10.5” if I have 100% at 9AM and don’t touch the iPad until 2:00 the following day I may be at 98%. Keep in mind that I’ve been regularly using the 10.5” since 2018, and have only had the 12.9” for about 3 weeks now.

Thanks in advance for any support. I do believe I have a week left on my return period with Verizon.

We understand from your post that the battery life of your new iPad Pro 12.9" is not what you expected it to be. Check to see if there is an app that may be running in the background while your iPad Pro is not in use which could be draining the battery. If there is turn Background App Refresh off for that app.

If you have adjusted the settings to maximize the battery life and the issue persists, you may need to contact Apple Support for additional assistance.
