iPhone 11 Pro Max laggy after upgrading to iOS 14.7.1
On Sunday I updated my iPhone to iOS 14.7.1 after seeing that the update was available. I don’t remember what version of iOS I was running previously but I believe it was an earlier version of 14.
The update didn’t long to install but after installing it I noticed that my phone had an egregious amount lag. When I switch from app to app it takes around 4-6 seconds before I can actually interact with anything, the app is just frozen. When I go back to the Home Screen with a video playing it takes the app nearly 4 seconds to pause or suspend the app. When I leave an app like SoundCloud or Musi with a song playing, it will cut out and if I press play on the notifications screen it will continue to stutter. When I try to raise and lower my volume by holding the button down it takes around 4 seconds before it does. I try to tap the button to see if it does it smoothly but after 3 button presses it stalls and takes 4 seconds to register.
When I get a notification (even if it does not have a sound) whatever I am playing will lower in volume for 5 seconds, mute, the notification sound will play after 2-3 seconds (or won’t), and then after about another 3 seconds of silence the sound of what I am playing will return. My alarms also take a few seconds to stop.
When I am connected to my Bluetooth headphones my phone will disconnect from them after around 1 minute if I am not actively playing something and the phone is off. And even worse (and I really do not understand how this made it past beta tests) it takes anywhere from 5-8 seconds for the phone to connect to or decline a phone call. The phone is somehow terrible at taking calls. I am also pretty sure that my internet speeds have gotten slower. All of these problems have combined to create a downright terrible experience. After looking online I found that a lot of people are experiencing these problems. I have not downgraded back iOS 14.7.1 yet but I am going to if I am able to fix these problems. This is why I decided to post here and see if I can get some help with this. To whoever is reading this I am begging for some assistance here, I just want my phone to run smoothly again. Please help me.
