Music App (1.1.6.32) in MacOS 11.5.1 does not update "play count" and "last played date"

The ongoing saga continues, with apparently a variety of configuration or operating conditions contributing to the behavior. Some people see this and other do not, to wit ...

Apple Music does not reliably update the various property/attribute values related to the play history of individual tracks, such as "Last Played", "Play Count" and "Last Skipped"

Several weeks ago I was on repeated calls with the Apple help line in attempts to diagnose this, resulting finally in their telling me it would be addressed in a future update. I'm sorry to find that the most recent MacOS udpate has not corrected the problem.

Press and hold down option when launching iTunes and test behaviour in a different library. If that doesn't work try a new user profile. Then go back to the original library and see if it now behaves properly.

Right-click on the column headings in the Songs view or any playlist viewed as songs. You should find Date Added is one of the fields you can enable.

For other people tracking this problem, the recent update to MacOS 11.5.2 (Apple Music 1.1.6.37) has not fixed this behavior

It also seems I'm now unable to access the "Date Added" Folder which was how I organized all my music! Has anybody had any luck with getting this back?
